Come along on a visit to the most rural corner of our state, the place Vermonters call The Kingdom. In this northeast corner, the trees turn to autumn colors first and brightest, farms sit in the shadow of mountain peaks, and legends abound.

You’ll start in the border city of Newport and take a ride on Lake Memphremagog, the 33 mile long lake with six miles in Vermont, and the rest in Canada. There are tales of a sea serpent and the early days of smuggling on this lake that dominates life here, with culture, industry and recreation.
